Our Director Payshia Edwards-Smith, MPH, Doula, CLES

Payshia is a birth and reproductive justice advocate, public health professional, Certified Lactation Education Specialist, Doula, poet, and avid thrifter. She brings with her over nine years of experience as a Doula, and over ten years of experience and deeply invested knowledge of the healthcare system and public health practices. 

After completing her Master of Public Health program, 

she went on to become a Doula and Certified Lactation Education Specialist (CLES). 

Following this path because she felt a calling to the work, Payshia views herself as a catalyst to improving adverse maternal, infant, and reproductive health outcomes in Black and brown communities.
